PulsarWMS requires a Windows server running an instance of SQL Server (any edition, including SQL Express). Customers have the option of providing their own server or using a cloud server provided by PulsarWMS. Customers who provide their own server are responsible for all server hardware, server licenses and IT support. Customers who choose to use PulsarWMS cloud server will have all licenses and support provided – this is a great option for companies who do not have their own dedicated IT team.
-
Pulsar Mobile depends upon quality wireless infrastructure to connect customer’s mobile scanning units with the server. For the PulsarWMS system to be effective, customers should ensure they have professionally installed and maintained WiFi network, appropriately secured, and with strong and full warehouse coverage. PulsarWMS can provide customers support in this area if required through our Information Technology partners.
-
Pulsar mobile is designed to work with a range of Android and Windows-based mobile scanning devices, a variety of which are available for purchase with PulsarWMS. The hardware options we offer have been specifically chosen to provide customers with the best user experience.
-
For the highest productivity and accuracy, Pulsar Mobile relies upon the scanning of both location and SKU barcodes. Each unique SKU being tracked requires a unique barcode, and if product does not have an appropriate barcode from the vendor, SKU barcode labels can be applied upon receipt into the facility. Pulsar Mobile can assist with this process. In addition, every discreet storage location in the warehouse requires a unique barcode label. The PulsarWMS implementation team can provide customers with recommendations on the best approach to labelling their locations.
-
Order processing is a significant activity in most warehouse operations. Orders typically exist in a corporate ERP system and most of these systems are capable of exporting the orders in a digital format for systems like PulsarWMS to import. PulsarWMS prefers files in text (.txt) and Excel (.xls) formats but other formats can be used, possibly for an additional integration cost depending on the complexity of the integration.
